Amigas, let me tell you a not-so-well-kept secret: as blessed as I was to be able to go to college, I was kinda miserable too.
Dormida, I'd get on the train to my class, feeling uninspired and burnt out. This creative major that I had chosen– and a sprinkle of ADHD too, if we're being honest - made my time in undergrad feel incredibly draining.
I was getting to a point where I felt like the classes I enjoyed most were the ones outside of my major, and based on how my school operated, I could not switch paths easily. I was stuck in an environment I did not want to be in. Sentia que ya no podia mas. And to think, this was just for school. Being in a job you hate is an experience on a whole other level.
How do you feel about your career?

If you want to find a job that fulfills you, you need to understand yourself and your wants. What does an ideal job look like, and what are you willing and able to do for that job? What kind of life do you want to live? What do you need to do to get there?
As Latinas, it can be harder to switch careers because we don't always have the resources and support to fall back on when we need to refocus.
As overwhelming as it does get, we DO deserve to be in a career that we love and can have fun in. Call us biased, but digital marketing is an AWESOME career to pivot into. You do not need a marketing degree; you can launch your career anywhere; it's beginner-friendly and a fun job that thrives on diversity.

Something super important to do – no matter what your path in life is – is to keep learning new skills. You will never regret knowing more about the world around you and it can be especially beneficial when you want to pivot into a job in which you need more of a background.
